6 weeks, meets once per week on Tuesday nights. Students in Meditation courses may also attend the Thursday evening Chakra Meditation classes free for the duration of the course.
 
Self-Inquiry Meditation takes us on a journey within ourselves, revealing our inherent potential. The techniques of breath awareness, concentration, chakra and mantra meditation, and visualisation help develop awareness of our inner self, inspiring us to keep a regular daily practice.

Meditation develops peace and harmony within ourself and all those we come into contact with.

Yoga is for everyone, of all ages and body types. If you are new to yoga or if you need a recap on the basics regarding breath, relaxation, moving with awareness, maintaining general health, wellbeing, flexibility and strength, then this course is for you.

The course gives a foundation and understanding of the techniques, effects and theory of yoga, helping to develop your own daily Yoga practice and also to prepare for the regular daily classes held at our centre.

This course is designed for those who have completed the beginners course and want to develop their practice systematically.

The Yoga in Daily Life System is based around 8 levels of postures, breathing and meditation exercises, designed to be practiced systematically. This course progresses students beyond the beginners levels focussing on levels 2 and 3 of the System.

Consistent and systematic practice enables a wholistic, safe and balanced progression to the deeper stages of Yoga.

Meets once per week on Thursday nights. Includes one additional drop in class per week (8 additional classes) of your choice from our timetable while on the course.

Meditation is our daily practice, a connecting with the universe and our life’s bigger picture. Like all things animate and inanimate we are permeated by consciousness and in that way connected to everything. At the time of full moon this connective energy is “Purna” (full, complete) and meditation at this time is greatly enhanced. Often we feel strong emotions, both positive and negative as a result of the full moon cycle and it is precisely at this time we can enter a deep inner journey, evaluating and understanding ourselves, taking stock and opening the doors to new beginnings. In a fast paced world, taking the time to stop, relax, be still and meditate is essential to our daily health and happiness.
 
Join us for guided meditation in our spacious Yoga centre or garden (weather permitting). The evening will be guided by Purnima, accompanied by live background music on classical guitar.

For people wanting to relax, be healthy, and enjoy a natural holiday style leading up to and celebrating New Year's Eve.
 
This is our 8th time running this marvellous retreat. We welcome people of all levels of yoga experience. 
 
Time and space to reconnect with body, mind and spirit and reignite your inner spark. A balanced combination of yoga, meditation, breath work, deep relaxation techniques, delicious vegetarian meals and much more. Located within the beautiful surrounds of the Royal National Park and the pristine South Coast beaches. Altogether it is the perfect way to start the New Year and bring back that feeling of health, happiness and clarity.

6 - 8am yoga & meditation class either at the venue or the grass area next to Stanwell Park beach with time for a dip in the ocean!

This year we welcome special guest yogi Mahamandaleshwar Swami Jasraj Puri to our retreat. Australian born, from 1996 to this year Swami Jasraj was living in India at the Yoga in Daily Life ashram in Rajasthan and also spent time studying and practicing in the Himalayas. Currently he is teaching at Yoga in Daily Life Brisbane.

Swami Jasraj is a highly respected and inspiring yogi whose immersion in the authentic yogic practices and life in India has contributed to his deep insight and experiences. With his western background we have the unique opportunity to learn from someone who can offer us these valuable ancient teachings in a modern and relevant context in a clear, down to earth manner. He will add a whole new awesome dimension to our New Year Retreat!


THE RETREAT VENUE: is Govinda Valley Retreat Centre. 1.10 hours drive south of Sydney CBD.
The venue has a large, light filled hall for practicing yoga (see photo), a large dining room and expansive gardens, and close to bush walking tracks, the beach and recreation areas.
You can expect cleanliness, spaciousness, grand views, clean coastal waters and privacy.
The Food: All meals are wholesome, delicious, abundant vegetarian fare. Prepared fresh daily and based on Ayurvedic nutrition.
 

ACCOMMODATION: There are 3 options -
1. a limited number of twin share rooms with ensuites. They are a similar to hotel rooms only more homely and with windows that look out onto the garden. You can have it to yourself or share with 1 person. Linen & towels are provided.
2. lovely share rooms for up to 4 people. Comfy single beds, each with its own bedside table and lamp. The door walks you out to the garden and lawn area. The rooms are close to the share bathrooms. Linen is provided but you need to bring your own towel.
3. Camping. BYO Tent, bedding etc. The perfect budget option and also great if you'd prefer your own room. There are expansive well kept grounds around the buildings for this & you'll be close to the local wildlife such as the deer. 
The shared rooms and campers use the same bathrooms that are cleaned daily.
 

DATE: Wednesday 27 December 2017 to Tuesday 2 January 2018.
Registration is Wednesday between 2 - 3pm. At 3pm there will be a welcome circle followed by a short yoga nidra, gentle warm up yoga class and then dinner.
The retreat closes with lunch on Tuesday.
We understand that some people may need to return to work on Tuesday, so it is possible to finish with lunch on Monday for anyone in a share room or camping. Contact us to discuss.

GETTING THERE: You can drive or get a train on the South Coast line and get off at Otford station. We will pick you up from there. Coming from interstate? Its easy to connect from Sydney airport to the train.

DISCOUNTS * returning participants can only claim 1 discount. 
CANCELLATION Cancellations made before 1 December a refund will be given minus a $100 administration fee. Cancellations after this time there will be no refund or transfer.

Alcohol, tobacco, recreational drugs and non vegetarian food stuffs are not to be consumed or brought to the retreat venue.

DISCLAIMER We provide a nurturing and safe environment and our program is thoughtfully planned, but no responsibility will be taken for any injuries incurred during the retreat.
